Spring Golf Tips to Get You in the Swing of Things
Here comes that wonderful, warmer spring weather. Everyone seems to need the break from that frigid winter, and as such, you’re likely getting excited about taking your golf clubs out for tee time.
But before you hop in the golf cart and head along the fairway, there are a few spring golf tips you should check off your list so you can enjoy playing through for the duration of spring and on into summer.
– Inspect your equipment
Don’t wait until you get out onto the golf course to check your golfing equipment. You may need new grips, and your shafts might be inadequate. Go through and make sure everything is in proper working order first, and then repair or replace anything that isn’t.
– Start short, then full
You may play golf every year, but if you don’t practice short swings then full swings, you’re setting yourself up for a bad game and possible injuries. Putt first to get your tempo right. Then take on chipping and pitching before moving to the full swing. Once in full swing, get your grip and posture right so you play well and minimize the chances you’ll pull or sprain a muscle.
– Be realistic about your game
The first few rounds of the season will likely not be your best. Use this as the time to practice and get back into the swing of things, pardon the pun. Head to the range to get in more practice and get your muscles refamiliarized with the movements you make on the course.
– Take some lessons
How do the pros stay great? They practice! And you can do that on the range as well as by taking a quick golf lesson to brush up. You might even learn something new, no matter how long you’ve been playing.
– Get a massage
Massages shouldn’t just be seen as an indulgence. They are an essential way to keep muscles from injury before an activity. They also help your muscles recover more quickly. It doesn’t matter if it’s your first time on the greens or your thousandth time…you’ve been indoors with winter and haven’t been engaging the muscles you’ll use at the golf course. Schedule a massage before and after and you’ll have the most enjoyable golf season of all.
Don’t waste time sitting around a waiting room to get that massage. In Your Home Therapy offers massage services that conveniently come to you when you schedule them. So enjoy what you love at home then answer the door to your best massage pre- or post-golf!
